'Alice' Debuts in LA and London

Rachele recently reprised her role as Alice in Unsuk Chin's Alice in Wonderland in Netia Jones' new production, and the show opened to great acclaim in both Los Angeles and London.  This ambitious production was put on by both the Los Angeles Philharmonic and The Barbican and also starred Andrew Watts as the White Rabbit and Jane Henschel as The Queen of Hearts.

Mark Swed of the LA Times said, "As Alice, soprano Rachele Gilmore took a listener to seemingly new places; the higher her voice went, the more wondrous the wonderland," and Zachary Woolfe of the New York Times called Rachele's soprano "clear yet warm-toned."

The Los Angeles Philharmonic was led by Maestra Susanna Mälkki and in London the BBC Symphony orchestra was led by Baldur Brönnimann.  Illustrations for the prodction were provided by famed illustrator Ralph Steadman
